Why people switch to smart locks
- No more lost keys or lockouts
- Give family, cleaners or tradespeople their own code and remove it when you need to
- Some models show who came and went, and when
- Lock or unlock from your phone with app-connected models
- Many models lock automatically when the door closes
Choosing the right smart lock
Smart locks vary a lot. Some replace your whole front-door lock, others fit over the existing deadbolt, and they need to suit your door's thickness, material and the way it opens. Before you buy, we check the door and talk through what you need, such as codes only, fingerprint access or app control.
We also make sure there's a backup way in. Most good smart locks have a key override or a way to power the lock if the batteries go flat, and we'll show you how yours works.
Apartments and strata buildings
Many apartment entry doors are fire-rated, and strata buildings often have rules about what can be fitted. We choose hardware that suits the door and the building, and we recommend checking with your strata committee or building manager before installation. We're happy to provide product details for approval.
Set up and handed over
We don't just fit the lock and leave. We set up your codes or fingerprints, connect the app if your lock has one, and show everyone how to use it, change codes and replace the batteries.
